Heute: Size does matter

Hallo Freunde!

Vielleicht habt ihr euch schon gefragt wieso mein blog einen solch komischen Namen hat. Dieser Name ist recht schnell erleutert, und dürfte den Okrasa interessierten unter euch zumindest in anderer Kombination bekannt vorkommen.

Ab dem Modelljahr 1961 und mit Einführung der ersten 34PS 1200er bei VW wurde auch die Okrasa Angebotspalette die bisher aus TS1200 und TSV1300 bestand um den Motor TSV1300/34 ergänzt. Die aus dem TSV1300 bekannte 69,5mm Kurbelwelle wurde auf das neue Motorgehäuse adaptiert und mit leicht modofiziertem Zylinderkopf leistete der TSV1300/34 nun knapp 50DIN PS.

Soweit zur Theorie, denn der TSV1300/34 war bis auf Hub und Köpfe ein Serienmotor, und genau an diesem Punkt greife ich mit meinem Motorkonzept ein. Somit steht der Name des Blogs (TSV1504/34) für nichts anderes als ein Okrasa ähnliches Konzept das den TSV1300/34 als "Serien"-Ausgangsbasis ansieht, ich baue also keinen Okrasa Motor ;-)

Der Hubraum des Motors wird auf 1504ccm angehoben, des weiteren werden einige Eingriffe im Motor vorgenommen, die beim TSV1300/34 nicht durchgeführt wurden.

Anbei schon ein kleiner Vorgeschmack auf das neue Herz des Motors....

Did you already made your thoughts about the funny name of the blog? The name (TSV1504/34) is explained in some short words, but at least for the experienced Okrasa interested the combination of numbers and letters is well known.

Beginning with 1961 when VW introduced the new post semaphore model that had the new 1200cc 40hp engine, also Okrasa started to offer a new engine option too. The early versions TS1200 and TSV1300 that were based on the 36hp engine were followed by the TSV1300/34. The well known special 69,5mm crank of the TSV1300 was adapted to the new engine case and together with modified and new designed dualport heads the TSV1300/34 produced 50 german DIN PS (about 60 us horses).

Thats the theory behind the engine, but if you have a closer look, the TSV1300/34 was a "stock" engine with slightly bigger punch and Okrasa heads. Here is the point where my project engine steps in, take all parts to get a TSV1300/34 and see what oldschool speed tricks can do with it....

So my friends, this will not be an Okrasa engine, but I will use some of the specifications and parts of it. The engine size will be raised to 1504cc....
